What is your holiday destination?

Apulia: travel guides

Puglia is considered one of Italy’s main summer holiday destinations, thanks to the beauty of its coasts, crystal waters and the charm of its traditions. This region, washed by both the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea, offers the perfect combination of nature, art, culture and local traditions. Therefore, it is no surprise that many of the camping sites and holiday villages in Puglia are located near the coast, and in particular in the most popular areas such as Gargano and Salento. Puglia’s camping sites are well equipped and therefore the ideal accommodation for family holidays in the areas most appreciated by tourists; but they can also be found in wilder areas, where the beaches are unspoiled and surrounded by nature, with clear sea water and marine caves that make great diving sites.

Places to visit in Puglia

A land of history and traditions, Puglia offers tourists fascinating experiences all year round. We especially recommend visiting the Trulli di Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site: typical old stone houses, many of which today are used for different purposes. The cities of Lecce and Bari, have plenty of art and monuments to visit, while San Giovanni Rotondo, which hosts the Sanctuary of Padre Pio, is an unmissable stop on the religious tourism route. In general, especially in spring and summer, Puglia hosts an array of events, in particular village festivals and patron saint celebrations, great occasions to discover more about the region’s culture, enogastronomy and dancing traditions, such as the famous Pizzica Salentina dance. For those who enjoy the local cuisine and wines, Puglia is synonymous with fresh fish dishes, extra virgin olive oil and lots more!
