Camping in the Balearic Islands, a European paradise
Jewels of the Mediterranean
The Balearic Islands are an archipelago of islands in the Mediterranean Sea between the coasts of Valencia and, further to the East, of Sardinia. Small jewels in the Mediterranean, the Balearic Islands offer splendid beaches and relaxing and fascinating atmospheres that testify to culture of the peoples that have lived there, complete with excellent services for tourism and plenty of entertainment venues.Palma de Mallorca is the capital of Balearic autonomous community, whose archipelago consists of four main islands, Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera, and several islets such as Cabrera, with its eponymous Archipelago National Park, Conejera, Dragonera, Es Vedrà, Espalmador, Espardell and Tagomago.
Visit the Balearic Islands
Mallorca proudly boasts of its Sierra de Tramontana mountains and the Royal Carthusian Monastery of Valldemossa, chosen by Frédéric Chopin and George Sand as inspiration, as well as charming villages surrounded by beautiful countryside. Menorca offers pristine beaches of great charm and the remains of the ancient Talayotic culture, also to be found on Mallorca. Ibiza is the island of beaches, nightclubs and general nightlife, with the most famous clubs annually attracting thousands of young tourists from around the world, but it is also an island of historical and natural beauty. Ibiza is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Biodiversity and Culture, thanks to places such as the Carthaginian necropolis of Puig des Molins, the Phoenician site of Sa Caleta, underwater seagrass meadows and the walls of its capital and its Moorish castle and cathedral. With an image similar to that of Ibiza, although less extreme in terms of entertainment, Formentera offers idyllic beaches and coves for every kind of beach holiday. Among the islets, a nod to Cabrera is merited with its expansive beaches and valued national park.
