Catalonia is on the podium of the autonomous Spanish regions in terms of influx of tourists from around the world, and this is enough to guess at its incredible cultural heritage. The main pole of attraction of Catalonia is definitely the capital Barcelona, with its countless works of art and its nightlife, but it is also a region with numerous seaside resorts of great appeal, both for families and for young people in search of fun.

Places to visit in Catalonia

Barcelona is the undisputed star of Catalonia and one of the most loved cities in Spain. Beautiful landscapes, between the sea and the hills, combine within an area rich in architectural works among the most famous in the world, such as the Sagrada Familia, Plaza Real, Casa Battlò, Casa Milà, Parc Guell, and, in general, all those places with the unmistakable mark of the architect Antoni Gaudí. Convenient to visit, thanks to the many campsites and holiday resorts near to the city, Barcelona is also renowned for its street culture and the bars and cafes along La Rambla, the famous avenue that joins Plaça de Catalunya to the Old Port, or the outcrops of Montjuïc and Tibidabo with their priceless views of the city. If you love football, you can also visit the famous stadium of FC Barcelona, Camp Nou.

Another fascinating city in Catalonia is Lleida, or Lerida, a name still very much in use, at the border with France and Andorra. Together with its province, the area is ideal for nature lovers, with plenty of campsites and the opportunity to practice sports such as hiking in the Pyrenees or in the outlying desertic areas.
